Employment and labour laws have witnessed significant updates over the last few years, with both Central and State governments actively legislating to address aspects such as social security, workplace data privacy, and the enforcement of stricter labour regulations. We help clients across diverse industry sectors pre-empt and mitigate risks emanating from the evolving laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. From advising on internal policies and housekeeping to regulatory, transactional, investigative, and dispute resolution, we advise on the full spectrum of employment and labour laws to help businesses safeguard their operations and commercial interests.
With 6 partners and 15 associates, our Employment & Labour team supports its clients in managing the full spectrum of their employment needs, from day-to-day operational and contractual aspects to support on contentious, compliance, and policy matters during transactions and other transition events. Our intervention and assistance extend across diverse industry sectors, with the end goals of creating implementable solutions and driving optimal risk mitigation.
The team advises clients on employment contracts, employee benefits, company policies, employee transfers during corporate restructurings/M&A events, employment-centric due diligence, ESOPs, employment manuals/handbooks, etc., in addition to representing clients in employment and labour dispute resolution proceedings. We also assist with labour audits and compliance checks to ensure adherence to both local and national labour laws, helping clients minimise the risk of regulatory sanctions.
A key differentiator of our practice is the involvement of our criminal law experts in handling sensitive matters, including workplace misconduct, whistleblower complaints, and disciplinary actions. Working closely with our white-collar crime team to provide strategic counsel, we support clients on complex internal investigations involving senior executives, regulatory scrutiny, and reputational risk.
