Our team advised Assam Tea Corporation Limited, as legal consultants of the Transaction Advisors, M/s. Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP, in respect of long-term lease for 30 years of 10 tea gardens of the client situated in the districts of Jorhat, Nagaon, Sibsagar, Charaideo and Golaghat.
Our scope of work ranged from overall consultation to drafting of tender and miscellaneous documents for selecting the lessees, comprehensive bid process management involving preparation of Technical and Financial Bid Evaluation Reports and drafting and registration of the Lease Deeds.
The project involved transfer of services of more than 10,000 employees of the tea gardens and more than 9,000 hectares of land comprised in the tea gardens, involving a total lease premium of more than Rs. 35 Crores.
The entire assignment was carried out by Mr. Bhargav Mitra, Partner and Mr. Ritwik Saha, Associate under the guidance of Mr. Debanjan Mandal, Managing Partner.
